Back to School September 2020
Welcome back to school.
We look forward to welcoming children in years 1 to 6 back to school on Monday 7th September 2020 and Nursery and Reception children on their individual start dates.
There are of course some changes to the way we will be operating. We understand that these changes will have implications for families. Hopefully as we adapt and learn more about COVID-19 we will be able to relax some of the new structures that are in place. Until then, we would ask for your support in ensuring that we work together to keep children, families and staff members safe.
Each family has been assigned to one of four groups, A, B, C or D which relates to the entrance and exit point and time of arrival and collection each day. Please find a reminder below of the letters that were sent to all parents on 28th August 2020 with their child/children's assigned group.
Entry to the school site and classrooms:
We recognise that this will be a big change for everyone to get used to so we will have plenty of signposting and staff to point you in the right direction!
Start times and entrances may differ between classmates. This is to accommodate sibling groups. Please ensure that you adhere to the group timing/entry and exit point that your child/children have been assigned to in the email previously sent. The start and end of the school day have been extended to ensure that parents can socially distance when entering and exiting the school. One adult per family should accompany children to their classroom entrance on the playground. These will be signposted.
To ensure that class bubbles are maintained as much as possible, each upstairs class has been assigned their own entry and exit point. To accommodate the number of classes, these exit and entry points will be shared between two classes but at different times. These will be clearly signposted.
We have looked at various options regarding drop off and pick ups and this is the model that best suits our site and protects the safety of adults. In the morning all sibling groups may enter their classes at the same time as detailed in the previous email. At the end of the school day, some sibling groups may have different end times. In this event, we recommend that parents arrive towards the end of their pick up time frame to allow for a shorter wait time for siblings.
Getting to school
Families are encouraged to walk, scooter or cycle to school. Please avoid driving. If you do absolutely have to drive, allow plenty of time to find a safe parking space away from the school site. It is everyone's responsibility to keep the roads around the school safe for the children. If your child arrives late, you will be expected to wait outside the main reception with your child. If you are late, please park away from the site. It is of paramount importance that you leave yourself enough time at the beginning and end of the day to arrive punctually.
The lower car park will be open for the drop off of children who are attending breakfast club until 8am. After 8am entry will be via the pedestrian gate only.
Please refer to the letters below for each individual group.
