Commemorating First World War centenary

To commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War, some of our Children collaborated with the staff at the Battle of Britain bunker to create a special art work.

They painted poppies and cut individual leaves, after which they wrote the names of all the local soldiers who died in WW1 from Uxbridge.

In the coming weeks more children will be able to visit the artwork.

In addition to the artwork, around the school children have learnt about the significance of armistice day and why people wear poppy badges.
