On the 4th of October the children were invited to come and see (with their families) how the allotment has expanded during our harvest festival week. The children made baked goods to sell over the week in order to help raise money to maintain and further develop the site.
Our school allotment has been slowly developing over the years and has gone from 6 wooden planters on the playground to a huge plot with a sensory garden, herb hopscotch and a polytunnel. The children love exploring and taking part in activities on the allotment. We are working closely with Luke Consiglio, the CEO of The Pantry catering company, to teach the children where our food comes from and understand the processes food goes through before it gets to our plates.
