We are proud of our John Locke Academy uniform. It helps to create the school identity, a sense of community and unity.
Pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 will wear a royal blue sweatshirt with the school logo; a white polo shirt; grey trousers or skirt. In the summer, grey shorts or light blue checked summer dresses may be worn.
Pupils in Key Stage 2 (years 3, 4, 5 and 6) may wear a John Locke Academy tie, a royal blue v-neck jumper or cardigan with the school logo, white shirt and grey trousers or skirt. In the summer, grey shorts or light blue checked summer dresses may be worn.
Shoes should be comfortable and black. Trainers may be worn for going outdoors. Socks should be black, grey, blue or white; tights should be grey or dark blue.
Nursery children will not be required to wear a uniform. We do recommend that they wear loose clothing that can be washed easily. Trainers are the best form of footwear for nursery children.
PE kit – PE lessons are introduced during reception and continue as part of the national curriculum throughout the rest of their primary education. Children will require the following for PE:
Blue or black PE shorts
Black plimsolls or trainers (any colour)
During colder weather jogging bottoms and hoodies/sweatshirts may be worn (black, grey or blue colours only).
A PE kit in a bag may be purchased from the supplier below.
Learning doesn’t stop because of the weather and we have designed outdoor spaces that children can use whatever the weather is. We would ask that all children in nursery, reception and year 1 have a pair of wellies that they keep in school. This will make sure that children will not be stuck inside during our notorious British winters – or spring, autumn and summer!
