About
At John Locke Academy we understand the admissions process can be a difficult process. We aim to have complete transparency throughout the whole admissions process. Parents are always welcome to talk to staff and all information is available from the main office. We are happy to discuss any part of the admissions process. The local authority admissions team can be contacted on 01895 556644.
Admissions for the academy follow The Elliot Foundation Academy Trust policy. There is no selection process for entry to the academy. Priority is given to children with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and looked after children if the academy is oversubscribed. Children who have siblings in school will be given next preference after which distance from the school is the deciding factor.
Please call the school office on 01895 590110 to discuss admissions or email admission@johnlockeacademy.co.uk.
Nursery Admissions 2026/27
We have 45 morning places and 45 afternoon places in the nursery, including 30 full time places. We will take children who have turned 3 by September 2026. If we are oversubscribed then the admissions statement below will be enforced.
Please contact the main office for an application form. Allocations for September intake take place in the Summer term.
Please note that admission to nursery does not secure a full time place in reception. Applications must be made to the local authority for reception places.
Reception September 2026 Admissions
Applicants for Reception in September 2026 will be considered under our determined Admissions policy 2026/27.
Applications for September 2026 will need to be made via www.eadmissions.org.uk by the deadline, 15 January 2026.
Information explaining the process is available at Hillingdon.gov.uk.
Applications must be submitted by the submission date published. Parents are responsible for ensuring that an application is made for each child even if they attend the school’s nursery or have older siblings in the school.
Although the co-ordinated admissions process is dealt with by the local authority, the Academy makes the decision on admissions according to their admissions policy.
The Elliot Foundation Trust (TEFAT) has now determined the admission policy for the academic year 2025/26 as follows:
Determined Admissions Policy 2027/2028
Children with Special Educational Needs
If a child has an EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan) formerly known as a statement, applications should be made via the SEN team at the London Borough of Hillingdon. They can be contacted on 01895 250489. More information is available from Hillingdon.gov.uk.
Our Local Offer for Children with Special Educational Needs or Disability are available on our policy page.
This is our policy for in-year admissions
These admissions are dealt with by the school directly and the main office should be contacted.
Admissions Appeal
This section has been prepared to assist parents who wish to lodge an appeal because, through the normal operation of the school's admission policy, their child/ren have not been allocated a place at John Locke Academy.
Decisions regarding the school admissions are made by The Elliot Foundation Academy Trust. The LA co-ordinates admissions to Reception, however, the Trust decides whether they can offer a place in the school in accordance with our published admission criteria. We also arrange our own admissions for applications received outside the normal admissions rounds (i.e. in-year applications.)
If you have not been offered a place for your child at John Locke Academy then you have the right to appeal. The Elliot Foundation Academy Trust have prepared guidance for parents/carers on submitting an appeal which can be found on their website: https://elliotfoundation.co.uk/resources/admissions
All appeals must be submitted on our Admission Appeals Form, which can be found here.
Completed Admissions Appeals Forms should be returned to the Admissions' Officer either via email at admissions@johnlockeacademy.co.uk or to the school address.
Appeals for entry into primary school for September 2026 can be made from National Offer Day (Thursday 16th April 2026) until Wednesday 20th May 2026. Appeals submitted within this timescale will be heard by the end of the summer term 2026.
Appeals can be submitted after the deadline; however, there is no guarantee that the appeal hearing will still be arranged before the end of the summer term.
